About our work
Our mission at SASHE is to empower girls and young women through training and mentorship, equipping them with the knowledge and skills to cope with life challenges and build their capacity to positively impact their communities and the world.
We believe that by providing girls and young women with access to education, training, and mentorship, we can empower them to reach their full potential and become leaders in their communities. We are committed to creating a safe and inclusive environment where girls and young women can learn, grow, and succeed.
Our training and mentorship programs focus on providing girls and young women with the knowledge and skills they need to succeed in life, including education, life skills, and career development. We also provide mentorship opportunities with successful women in various industries to give our participants a glimpse of the possibilities and inspire them to reach for their goals.
We work closely with girls, their families, and communities to identify and address the challenges they face, and to create tailored programs that meet the unique needs of each individual.

At SASHE, we prioritize understanding the unique needs of each girl and young woman we serve. Our Story
SASHE Initiative is a beacon of hope and empowerment for girls and young women in Nairobi, Machakos, Kitui, Makueni and Kajiado Counties. We are a dynamic non-governmental organization driven by a powerful vision—to dismantle barriers and unlock the boundless potential within every girl and young woman. Through our comprehensive programs and unwavering commitment, we are transforming lives and shaping a future of endless possibilities.
Our journey began in 2020 as a volunteer initiative known as SHE (Social Support and Holistic Empowerment). A group of passionate ladies recognized the profound challenges faced by girls and young women, particularly those from disadvantaged backgrounds. We understood that limited access to education, scarce economic opportunities, and societal limitations were stifling their potential. This realization ignited a fire within us—a determination to create lasting change.
In 2022, we took a monumental step forward and officially registered as SASHE (Significant Action, Social Support, and Holistic Empowerment) Non-Governmental Organization. This pivotal moment symbolized our unwavering dedication to empowering girls and young women, and solidified our commitment to making a lasting impact.

Noreen is a multi-talented individual with a combined 21 years of experience in Public Relations & Marketing, Human Resource Management, and church ministry. With a deep passion for ministering to children, young adults, and women, she is dedicated to helping them realize their potential and embrace their inherent beauty.

Advocacy & Capacity Building Director
Hellen is a dedicated development practitioner with a strong belief in the power of change and transformation. As a Monitoring, Evaluation, and Capacity Development specialist, she has worked diligently at Elimu Fanaka Initiative to improve learning outcomes and provide quality education to rural public primary schools.
